CASE STUDY
Flowmeter removal and installation; Custom spool fabrication (304 stainless steel); Pipe support and valve installation; Flowmeter calibration and configuration; System documentation delivery
TMPC was tasked with replacing an unreliable flowmeter on the only sludge pipe at a Northern California WWTP. The upgrade required custom fabrication and installation of an Endress+Hauser Promag W 400 electromagnetic flowmeter, all within a critical 10-hour plant shutdown window to avoid extended operational downtime.
The existing flowmeter on the WWTP’s only sludge pipe was delivering inconsistent and unreliable readings, impairing the plant’s ability to optimize chemical dosing, manage sludge processing, and maintain regulatory compliance.
TMPC removed the old flowmeter and installed a new high-accuracy Endress+Hauser Promag W 400 meter with supporting valves, pipe supports, and a custom-fabricated spool piece. The team completed installation, calibration, and commissioning within a 10-hour shutdown window to ensure continuous plant operations.
